School Administrator & People Operations Summary

I have had the pleasure of leading schools of over 600 students, and over 40 staff members.  Leading new schools through the implementation of Project-Based Learning is my passion.  My leadership focuses on creating a culture of buy-in from staff through creating a positive culture.  Nothing can be accomplished if we do not value a diverse set of opinions, backgrounds, and ideas.

I have taught high school in a variety of settings, have flourished at times, and felt burned-out at times.  I have been an administrator for large districts and have designed educational systems that motivate students and faculty. I have engineered better ways to obtain valid data for decision-making and instructional design.  I have helped implement new grading systems in schools that needed change.  I have a 20-year history of building teams and assisting others to become leaders.  This background gives me a unique understanding of what it will take to succeed. Additionally, I am part of Baldwin Wallace's Superintendent Licensure and Internship Program.  This experience will galvanize my ability to elevate school and stakeholder needs.

 

2020-2021     

School Director of Menlo Park Academy

Cleveland, Ohio

  • Served as tireless school resource, which enabled development of lasting relationships with students, parents and guardians.

  • Promoted professional growth of teachers and staff by implementing a Teacher Empowerment Model that leveraged the expertise of staff to develop colleagues.

  • Oversaw entire operations for 650-student Gifted school, including budget, marketing and curriculum development.

  • Collaborated with The Board of Directors, Operations and Communications to develop functional systems.

  • Kept school in full compliance with established policies, legal requirements and student safety standards.

  • Communicated with parents to encourage active parental participation in education.

  • Maintained school focus on learning by creating classroom environments that focused on the whole child.

  • Observed teachers, documented activities and implemented improvement plans to optimize classrooms.

  • Coached building principals through the implementation of professional development for faculty

  • Aggregated, analyzed and shared staff attendance data for the entire district

  • Built system to coordinate faculty appreciation efforts in 14 district buildings

  • Coordinated and communicated weekly information from the central office to all district building leadership

  • Envisioned and produced a professional development-based podcast for the district

  • Produced podcast segments to communicate district efforts to all stakeholders

  • Managed content for the district website

  • Coordinated the resident educator program for the district
